BVE 4: there are 13 different drives for five different trains, modelling most of the different stopping patterns on the route. Runs vary between 12 minutes duration from Metrocentre to Newcastle, to 1 hour 43 minutes for the entire route. Take care - with the non-stop runs, it’s possible to get caught by the semaphores!
You must have the British semaphores and colour light signals, available from trainsimcentral, properly installed.
BVE 2: The BVE 2 version, dated 23 December 2005, continues to be available between Hexham and Sunderland, with runs for the class 156 and the HST.
BACKGROUND: The Newcastle and Carlisle Railway, England's first cross-country route, was completed in 1838. The model includes representations of some of the earliest surviving railway buildings – many of them still in use today! The BVE route through the scenic Tyne Valley runs via Wylam, birthplace of railway pioneer George Stephenson (whose home is shown in the route), to Newcastle and Sunderland.
Both versions are distributed as self-installing .exe files which place the objects and routes in the default BVE places. You may, of course, change this if you wish.
