BVE 4 and openBVE: 16 different drives for seven different trains model most stopping patterns on the route. Runs vary between 11 minutes duration for MetroCentre to Newcastle, to 1 hour 46 minutes for the entire route. Signalling is represented as it was in 2008, before some semaphores were replaced by LED signals.
Timetables are based on the October 2009 timetable. Be aware that:
- on runs to Sunderland you might catch up with the preceding Metro service and experience signal checks.
- on railtours and the HST run from Carlisle, you might catch up with the preceding service and experience signal checks.
You MUST have the British semaphores and colour light signals, available from trainsimcentral, properly installed.
BVE 2: No development for BVE 2 has been done since the version dated 23 December 2005.
BACKGROUND: The Newcastle & Carlisle Railway was completed in 1838. The model includes representations of some of the earliest surviving railway buildings – many of them still in use today! There’s a concise history and guide to Tyne Valley available FREE  here.
Both route versions are distributed as self-installing .exe files which place the objects and routes in the default BVE places. You may, of course, change this if you wish.

GOT A PREVIOUS VERSION?
Version 2 contains many new objects. You are advised to either DELETE or RENAME your previous version to avoid problems.
Version 2.02, published on 8 January 2010, corrects a non-critical object dependency in the route files - thanks to Yownan Taylor for spotting this! Users of version 2.01 are unlikely to need to upgrade.
